The highpoint for this annual holiday event is revealing the winners of the Scavenger Hunt, proudly sponsored by all of us with the Wellesley Square Merchants’ Association.

On Sunday, December 8, players in the Scavenger Hunt sought out local stores with a hidden white snowflake. To qualify for the drawing, players collected 15 stamps from participating stores on their game card as proof they found that many snowflakes.

Congratulations go to the following winners, each receiving a share of $2,500 in gift certificates from Wellesley Square retailers:

The Holiday Stroll is long-standing tradition in Wellesley Square.

“We’re all thrilled for the winners. We are celebrating a successful Holiday Stroll, Scavenger Hunt and being able to add some measure of holiday joy for these winning families.” — Demian Wendrow, President of the Wellesley Square Merchants’ Association and Director of Operations at London Harness on Central Street

48 Wellesley Square stores, restaurants and businesses participated in producing the 2013 Holiday Stroll. Together, we are the Wellesley Square Merchants’ Association and worked to expand the event this year. The “Art Walk” was the newest feature.

Local art by members of Wellesley Women Artisans was displayed in 12 Wellesley Square locations, adding the Art Walk to the Holiday Stroll. Proceeds of sales – including a $500 donation by the Merchants’ Association – was made to the Wellesley Education Fund grants supporting the Visual Arts curriculum at Wellesley Public Schools, as part of a new event feature, the Art Walk.

“The Art Walk and all of the features of the Holiday Stroll is a good local effort. All in all, it’s a wonderful collaboration in which we came together as a community, for the community.” — Demian Wendrow, President
